Kirkintilloch Players Receives £5,300 National Lottery Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Kirkintilloch Players on receiving £5,300 from the National Lottery Awards for All Scotland; understands that the Kirkintilloch-based drama group is one of the oldest amateur drama clubs in Scotland; further understands that the group will use the funding to put together a programme of activities to celebrate its centenary, including a permanent exhibition of archive materials; believes that the Kirkintilloch Players provides a range of drama activities through which it engages with people of all ages; appreciates that the club, based in the Turret Theatre, Eastside, has been providing opportunities for the local community to participate in and watch theatre of all kinds since 1979, and has been running since 1923, and wishes the club the very best of success as it continues to entertain the residents of East Dunbartonshire and beyond.
