Sahara Trekkers Raise over £15,000 for Strathcarron Hospice

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Strathcarron Sahara Trekkers, including the councillor for Forth and Endrick, Rosemary Fraser, Elaine Hill, of Dunblane, and Dr Elaine Douglas, of Stirling, on completing a trek across the Sahara desert in aid of Strathcarron Hospice and raising the impressive sum of over £15,000 in the process; understands that the expedition saw them cross extremely difficult terrain in an inhospitable desert; further understands that Strathcarron Hospice provides specialist hospice care and expert end of life care for the people of Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth, and understands that the funds raised will go to support this work as well as the hospice’s work in research and education.
