NHS Fife First in Scotland Officially Accredited by Association of Perioperative Practice
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates NHS Fife on its theatres becoming the first in Scotland to become officially accredited by the Association of Perioperative Practice (AfPP) for the quality of the surgical services that they offer; understands that three sites, the Victoria Hospital and the National Treatment Centre in Kirkcaldy, and the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline, have each now officially received AfPP accreditation; recognises that an accreditation mark is awarded to theatre departments that meet a defined set of criteria by demonstrating consistency and quality of staff training, a commitment to improving patient experience and ensuring that robust processes and protocols are in place to maximise patient safety; commends NHS Fife and its theatre staff for gaining the accreditation, and wishes them all the very best for the future.
