The motion

That the Parliament acknowledges that, on 25 November 2023, there was a summit to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities; recognises that there was a hybrid summit hosted by Deputy Presiding Officer Annabelle Ewing MSP, on behalf of Jeremy Balfour MSP and Pam Duncan-Glancy MSP, the Convener and Deputy Convener of the Cross-Party Group in the Scottish Parliament on Disability; further recognises that there were speeches from Dr Jim Elder-Woodward OBE, Convenor of Inclusion Scotland and Baroness Grey-Thompson DBE; notes that a cross-party panel discussion and question and answer session was chaired by Annabelle Ewing MSP, Deputy Presiding Officer, and that the members of the panel included Emma Roddick MSP, Minister for Equalities, Migration and Refugees, from the Scottish National Party, Councillor John Denerley, from the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party, Pam Duncan-Glancy MSP, from the Scottish Labour Party, Gillian Mackay MSP, from the Scottish Green Party, and Councillor Allan Knox, from the Scottish Liberal Democrats; commends the panellists for sharing their experiences as disabled persons; thanks the staff of the Scottish Parliament for all their hard work in staging the event, and recognises that it was a day of celebration for everyone, and hopefully the first of many summits supporting disabled persons being in the rooms where decisions are made.
