Denis McGurk is Supporting Locals

The motion

That the Parliament acknowledges what it sees as the valuable community work of Denis McGurk, who has been transforming and restoring used football boots to be ready for new players; believes that this will help to reduce the barriers to participation in sport for young people; understands that the catalyst for Denis creating this campaign was reading that in Dundee, at the time, one in four children were experiencing poverty; believes that football can, and should be, a safe and positive space, where young people can socialise, work together and compete with respect; understands that Denis is still taking donations of football boots now to help the community, and wishes him all the best in this endeavour.
