Congratulations to North Glasgow-based Allied Vehicles for 30 Successful Years of Business
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates north Glasgow-based automotive engineering firm, Allied Vehicles, for 30 successful years of business; commends brothers Gerry and Michael Facenna, who founded Allied Vehicles in 1993, and grew it from a team of eight to over 650 employees today and a turnover of £180 million, making it one of Glasgow's largest manufacturers; further commends the efforts made to increase the number of vehicles that are accessible to people with disabilities by producing innovative wheelchair accessible vehicles at a larger scale to anything previously seen on the market; commends the work of Allied Vehicles in its charitable endeavours, and understands that through the Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust, the company has donated over £300,000 to charities and local community organisations, and believes that Allied Vehicles continues to be a family-owned business that contributes a great deal to Glasgow, its communities and its people.
