Murals at Prestonpans Railway Station Win National Prize

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that Prestonpans Railway Station has won the Community Project of the Year Award at ScotRail’s annual Community Awards, in recognition of its newly-installed murals; notes that the four murals, which each depict a different aspect of the town’s history and heritage, namely the Mallard train, a Wiles Motor Services bus, the Tranent to Cockenzie Waggonway, and Prestongrange Museum, were developed through a project led by East Lothian Community Rail Partnership (ELCRP) and supported by funding from rail operator CrossCountry, and created by four local artists, and congratulates ELCRP, the artists, and everyone else involved in commissioning and installing the new murals, on this outstanding success.
