Lodged by Kevin Stewart Standard Motion 17 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the work at the Port of Aberdeen, where new shore facilities are being installed to help Serco NorthLink's passenger ferries reduce their emissions; understands that the initiative, which will allow NorthLink's MV Hrossey and MV Hjaltland ferries to "plug in" to a clean electrical power source through the port's renewable energy tariff, has been funded by Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL); understands that this work aims to reduce emissions by mitigating more than 1,300 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year, and commends this initiative, which supports the Port of Aberdeen’s goal to be the first UK port to achieve net zero by 2040.
