Kate Fridriks’s Debut Novel, Real Gone Kid
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Kate Fridriks on the release of her debut novel, Real Gone Kid, which it understands is a captivating and heart-warming coming-of-age story, set in a fictional steel town within sight of Ravenscraig Steelworks in 1984; understands that Kate, from Wishaw, has announced the release of her new audiobook, which tells the tale of one woman’s struggle in the shadow of the Ravenscraig Steelworks; further understands that the book has been praised for its emotional depth and relatable characters, including being longlisted for the Cheshire Novel Prize; notes that Keira Luccesi, from the popular programme, River City, will narrate the audiobook, and wishes Kate all the best with the release of Real Gone Kid.
