Nature of Scotland Awards 2023 – Highlands and Islands Winners

The motion

That the Parliament recognises that the Nature of Scotland Awards 2023 ceremony took place on 22 November 2023 in Edinburgh; congratulates the 10 winners and finalists in the 10 categories; understands that award winners included Highlands and Islands organisations and projects, such as Orcadian Wildlife, for the Business for Nature Award, Saving the Pine Hoverfly from Extinction, for the Innovation Award, Cairngorms Connect, for the Landscape Restoration Award, Roy Dennis MBE, for the Species Champion Award, and the One Million Trees Campaign, for the Nature and Climate Action Award, and acknowledges what it sees as the importance of this annual awards ceremony in bringing many people from across Scotland together, and in celebrating and encouraging initiatives across the country to protect and restore Scotland's environment in the context of the nature emergency.
