Universities Accepted More Applicants with Disabilities than Ever in 2023

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that UK universities accepted more applicants with disabilities than ever in 2023, according to the latest UCAS figures; commends UCAS for introducing a range of new questions in the application to enhance the collection of information about disability and mental health conditions; recognises that 8,645 Scotland-domiciled applicants that shared a disability were accepted, representing an increase of 32.3% compared with 6,535 in 2022; acknowledges the importance of the accessibility of higher education for persons with disabilities, and thanks UCAS for its work to make university more accessible for everybody and its dedication to make the application process to university as fair as possible.
