Open University in Scotland and Children in Scotland Partnership

The motion

That the Parliament recognises that the Open University in Scotland (OU) and Children in Scotland (CiS) have signed a joint Memorandum of Understanding; welcomes the partnership working between what it sees as two of the country’s leading institutions to achieve what it understands is their common aim, to contribute to the Scottish Government's strategic objectives and Programme for Government, particularly in the area of education, and improve the lives of children and young people; understands that the intention of the partnership is to improve access to education, provide professional development opportunities, promote research and innovation and encourage collaboration and partnership working; further understands that both organisations will explore the creation of a curated portal site, with a tailored selection of courses that meet the learning and development needs of CiS members and their staff and volunteers, and wishes both organisations every success with their partnership.
