Glasgow Science Centre Wins Thistle Inclusive Tourism Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Glasgow Science Centre on winning the Inclusive Tourism Award, sponsored by Historic Environment Scotland, at the 2023 Thistle Awards national final, which took place at the Glasgow Hilton on 1 December; notes that the Thistle Awards are Scottish tourism and events awards, delivered by VisitScotland, which celebrate the best of tourism in the country and outstanding achievements in innovation, collaboration, and sustainable practices; understands that the Inclusive Tourism Award celebrates a business that has developed an outstanding welcome for all customers and provides accessible facilities that can be enjoyed by all customers; recognises that the Glasgow Science centre is a VisitScotland five-star visitor attraction and education charity, with the mission of engaging and inspiring people of all ages, abilities and social backgrounds in science; celebrates that the judges praised the centre for taking a “holistic approach” to providing an environment where everyone can feel included and also praised the innovative use of technology and support for staff; commends all of the team at the Glasgow Science Centre, and wishes them all the best for their continued success as a great visitor attraction that presents science and technology in unique and inspiring ways.
