New Community-led Research Award - Healthy Planet, Healthy People
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the launch of a new community-led research award entitled Healthy Planet, Healthy People, delivered by the Royal Society of Edinburgh in partnership with the Williamson Trust; understands that funding will be provided to support new and existing Scotland-based research projects in any discipline that promotes the health of individuals by fostering healthy communities, healthy environments and healthy foods; further understands that Healthy Planet, Healthy People will award 10 pilot projects, led by community organisations, up to £5,000 each, to conduct research for up to 12 months; considers that "community" is defined as a group of people who share an identity-forming narrative; celebrates the creation of new knowledge, or use of existing knowledge, to help build practical solutions to targeted challenges, and notes that applications are welcomed from 16 October 2023 to 22 January 2024.
