Pirate and Bluebelle Celebrates 10-year Anniversary

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates a Gourock gift store, which started out as a week-long pop-up shop and is preparing to celebrate a decade in business; notes that former school mates, Heather McCulloch and Nick Summers, started the Pirate and Bluebelle business on Kempock Street in 2014 as a way to sell their photographs of Inverclyde, never knowing that it would grow into a thriving local firm; understands that, to help mark the milestone, the business partners are planning a busy schedule of events for their customers; recognises that the Pirate and Bluebelle has grown into a popular local shop, selling work created by around 60 to 80 artists, not just from Scotland but from across the world; believes that Heather and Nick work hard to give local artists a platform to display and sell their work; understands that the Pirate and Bluebelle’s success comes from loyalty to its customers and local community; believes that small businesses like the Pirate and Bluebelle are the backbone of local economies, and wishes Heather and Nick all the best for the years ahead.
