Montrose Community Groups Awarded Seagreen Wind Energy Micro-grant Funding

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Montrose Community Council on being awarded £18,000 in Seagreen Wind Energy funding, with a further £27,000 committed over the next three years; recognises that this funding provides support to projects throughout the local community delivered by local groups as part of a £250,000 funding commitment through the Seagreen Community Benefit Fund; notes that the latest micro-grant funding allowed Montrose Community Council to distribute £500 to 18 different local initiatives, including Montrose Hope Paton Bowling Club, Montrose Men’s Shed, Montrose Community Trust and Borrowfield Community Centre; further notes that Montrose Community Council hosted an event at the Montrose Playhouse in November 2023 to hear how the funding had benefitted the local community; recognises that the Seagreen Community Benefit Fund was set up to support communities that are impacted by the operations of the Seagreen project, off the coast of Angus, and wishes all the initiatives that have received funding throughout Montrose every success going forward.
