Congratulating West Lothian College on Winning Awards at the CDN College Awards 2023

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates West Lothian College on sweeping the boards at the College Development Network (CDN) College Awards, held on 30 November 2023; understands that the CDN College Awards recognise the talent, skills and achievements of colleges, their staff and learners; acknowledges that, from 154 entries submitted from colleges across Scotland for 13 award categories, a total of 39 were shortlisted; further acknowledges that West Lothian College had the highest number of finalists of any college, with eight finalists, and the highest number of winners on the night, with five awards won; celebrates the five winners, Childhood Practice lecturer Caroline Jarvis, who won the Lecturer of the Year Award, Carpentry and Joinery lecturer Graeme Binnie, who won two awards, the Innovation Award and also the Judge’s Award, the Health and Social Care team, which won the Digital Learning Award, and the TRUST team, which won the Inclusive College Award; further celebrates the highly commended awards of Tori-Leigh Adams, for the Student of the Year Award, and the Student Association and HR team, for the Health and Wellbeing Award, as well as the commended awards of data scientist Craig Moore, for the Professional Services Colleague of the Year Award, and Electrical Engineering lecturer Steven Hunter, for the Community Learning and Development Award, and wishes the staff and students at West Lothian College continued success in the future.
