Organisations Provide Support to the Residents of Motherwell and Wishaw

The motion

That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the selfless acts of kindness and community support across Motherwell and Wishaw for those in need; understands that, week in and week out, Food for Thought, The Wee Mobile Food Bank, Livewell Christians Against Poverty, Craigneuk Lifelong Learning Centre, South Wishaw Parish Church, NCT Newmains, Made4U, Coltness Larder, Dallies Community Larder, North Motherwell Parish Church and other organisations across North Lanarkshire distribute fresh food to families and individuals in need who find themselves with financial struggles and in energy poverty; further understands that these organisations provide much needed companionship as well as signposting to other organisations to ensure that those that they help are receiving all the financial and emotional support available; believes that many larders and foodbanks across Scotland have seen a rise in demand over the last few months, with many, it understands, struggling to maintain stocks during the current cost of living crisis; thanks all the organisations involved that provide support to the residents of Motherwell and Wishaw, as well as the surrounding area, and wishes them all the best for the future.
