Inverclyde Council Chief Executive Appointed an MBE
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Inverclyde Council’s chief executive, Louise Long, on being named in The King’s New Year Honours List, being appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to local government and the community of Inverclyde; notes that Louise became the first female chief executive of Inverclyde Council when she took charge in September 2021, having previously held the role of chief officer of Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership, in which she led the local authority’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic; recognises that Louise began her career as a home support worker then worked with children with disabilities before qualifying as a social worker in 1996; understands that Louise has dedicated her MBE to local government staff, as she believes that it reflects the hard work of all staff at Inverclyde Council, and wishes her all the best as she continues her role of chief executive of Inverclyde Council.
