MBE for Kilmarnock Teacher

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Chris Smith, a maths teacher at Grange Academy, Kilmarnock, on being appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in The King's New Year Honours List; understands that Chris has already been named Teacher of the Year at the Scottish Education Awards in 2018, and that he has a unique approach to teaching maths to his students, using innovative thinking to help students to think differently and embrace maths; notes that Chris also has a weekly maths newsletter, which he has made for 15 years, along with his annual study camps, and his love of Pi Day and its celebrations, and congratulates Chris once again on this fantastic achievement.
