Helensburgh Automotive Employee Trust Takes Ownership of Helensburgh Toyota
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Helensburgh Automotive Employee Trust, which is comprised of 34 employees across the two local sites, on its plans to take over Helensburgh Toyota in March 2024; understands that this will be the first-of-a-kind Scottish car dealership that is making the move to implement an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), which passes the company into long-term employee ownership; understands that the business turned over £16 million last year and had a £500,000 refurbishment; acknowledges that the dealership has been firmly established in the town for 45 years; appreciates what it sees as the exciting new chapter for the employees who have become co-owners of the new venture, and wishes the entire team every success in establishing the new enterprise.
