Crannog Care Home Drumchapel Given Five-star Rating

That the Parliament recognises Crannog Care Home in Drumchapel, which has been given a five-star rating during a recent care inspection; understands that Crannog Care Home, which is based at Bayfield Terrace, Drumchapel, in the Glasgow Anniesland constituency, is unique in that it is effectively three small care home services in one, with each wing containing its own intimate care home environment that assists adults with dementia, learning difficulties and alcohol-related brain damage; recognises the report that was published on 8 January 2024, following an unannounced visit from the care watchdog on 30 November 2023, in which Crannog Care Home was praised for delivering person-centred care and support that improved people’s life experiences; understands that Crannog’s workforce is person-centred, with each individual’s needs and wishes being central to their support plan, to ensure that they are supported to live the life that they choose; further understands that the centre was praised for promoting a homely and positive environment, and that the report highlighted the home’s staff development day, which is a full-day event bringing workers together to discuss the service with feedback from relatives and residents to generate ideas on how the home's services can be improved; understands that inspectors said that this was a good example of inclusive practice that enhanced staff morale, resulting in positive changes in the service, with new activities and innovative approaches to care being introduced, and considers that many families have seen their loved ones' lives improved by the support and care given by staff at Crannog Care Home.
