The Economic Forum For Women Empowerment Scotland Receives £10,000 Grant from the National Lottery Community Fund
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates The Economic Forum For Women Empowerment Scotland on its funding success from the National Lottery Community Fund, having recently been awarded £10,000; notes that the organisation, which is based in Wishaw, provides a means for women of all ethnicities, with a particular focus on migrants, refugees and asylum seekers, to come together and engage in social and learning opportunities that reduce social isolation; understands that the organisation provides support to those experiencing disadvantage, and that it is developing a better understanding of women’s rights in the community; further understands that the group will use the fund to organise weekly events for women from ethnic minority migrant backgrounds, as well as to deliver monthly community meals focused on the needs of the group; thanks the organisation for its ongoing commitment to empowering women across North Lanarkshire, and wishes it the best of luck in 2024.
