First Bus to Pay Real Living Wage

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement by First Bus that it will become a real Living Wage employer; notes that the real Living Wage is calculated annually, set independently by the Living Wage Foundation and is based on actual living costs; believes that all work should pay enough to live on, and that being paid the real Living Wage is particularly important to staff during the cost of living crisis; commends First Bus's commitment; understands that its decision will make it the largest bus operator in the UK to sign up to the real Living Wage, and commends all employers that have signed up to paying the real Living Wage and have continued to maintain that commitment.
