UK Only G7 Country Where Household Budgets Have Not Recovered to Pre-pandemic Levels
The motion
That the Parliament notes the analysis by the Trade Union Council, using data from the UK’s own Office for Budget Responsibility, which shows that the UK is the only country in the G7 where household budgets have fallen compared to before the COVID-19 pandemic levels; believes that this UK-specific economic decline is the root cause of the cost of living crisis; considers that the failing UK is a millstone around the neck of Scotland and her people, and is dragging down both household budgets and national finances, and believes that only independence can deliver Scotland from what it sees as the blight of broken Brexit Britain, and what it considers the "sick man" of the G7.
