University Positions Glasgow at the Forefront of Space Industry Innovation

The motion

That the Parliament commends engineering researchers at the University of Glasgow for what it sees as their ground-breaking work on a self-eating "autophage" rocket system, the Ouroborous-3; understands that their research is important in positioning Glasgow at the forefront of space industry innovation; further understands that such research could have benefits in reducing space debris and maximising payload taken into space by such propulsion systems; notes that the team has received significant funding from the UK Space Agency, the Science and Technology Facilities Council and UK Research and Innovation; congratulates Professor Patrick Harkness, Krzysztof Bzdyk and Jack Tufft on their achievements, and wishes the research team luck while presenting its work at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) SciTech Forum and Exposition in Orlando, Florida.
