The motion

That the Parliament welcomes local news reports that residents across Clackmannanshire, in the Mid Scotland and Fife region, who have successfully stopped smoking in the last few years are being encouraged to share their experiences; understands that ASH Scotland is currently preparing for No Smoking Day on 13 March 2024, and is urging people across the Wee County to share their journeys into living a tobacco-free life; further understands that ASH Scotland wants to highlight the factors that prompted people to stop smoking, and what kind of support they found most helpful; notes that Sheila Duffy, chief executive of ASH Scotland, is encouraging local residents to get in touch about their successful experiences "in the last couple of years or so" of giving up smoking for good; is enthused by the potential for people to live a life free from tobacco and enjoy a healthier future with opportunities to spend their money in other ways, and notes that the charity is asking people to share stories up to a maximum of 200 words by emailing [email protected] or visiting ashscotland.org.uk/your-story.
