Inverurie Birthing Pool Reopens for Women in Grampian

The motion

That the Parliament commends NHS Grampian for reopening birthing pools at Inverurie Community Maternity Unit, following extensive work carried out to address complex water quality issues; understands that, as Inverurie Community Maternity Unit will be reopening its birthing pools, its team members are being offered refresher training on supporting water births; recognises that, with five birthing pools available across Grampian, families will now more widely be offered the use of the birthing pools as part of their birthing options; notes how valued it considers these facilities to be as a choice for women in their birthing plans, and wishes staff and patients using the birthing pools at Inverurie Community Maternity Unit every success.
