UK Covid-19 Inquiry Revelations
The motion
As an amendment to motion S6M-12010 in the name of Douglas Ross (UK Covid-19 Inquiry Revelations), insert at end "; notes with further concern that no minutes were taken of 'Gold Command' meetings held between the former First Minister, former Deputy First Minister, policy advisors, civil servants and, on occasion, other cabinet secretaries, despite it being stated in paragraph 2.16 of the Scottish Ministerial Code that all meetings that involve two or more ministers should be minuted; recalls that the current First Minister and former finance secretary are among those to have recently told the UK Covid-19 Inquiry that these meetings should have been minuted; believes that these meetings would have included critical discussions and insights that shaped the decisions on which lives and livelihoods depended, which would undoubtedly be of interest to both the UK and Scottish COVID-19 inquiries and grieving families desperate for answers, and recommends, therefore, that the First Minister instructs the independent adviser on the Scottish Ministerial Code to conduct a formal investigation into this potential breach."
