Alan Berry, Social Care Worker of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Alan Berry, who works for Wheatley Care and lives in Dunragit near Stranraer, on being awarded Social Care Worker of the Year at the Scottish Social Services Awards, which were held at the Glasgow Science Centre; understands that the annual awards recognise exceptional care workers, who go above and beyond to serve their communities; notes that Alan, a visiting officer, has worked at the Daar Lodge in Kirkcudbright for 19 years, where he has provided care and support services to Wheatley tenants; further notes that, in 2022, Alan led the efforts to refurbish the garden space at Daar Lodge, to make it accessible for residents, and for the local community to enjoy, and thanks Alan, and indeed all social care workers across Dumfries and Galloway, for their efforts to support people across the region.
