Strathcarron Hospice Fundraising Efforts Raise £7,000
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Strathcarron Hospice on its participation in an initiative to encourage households to recycle their old Christmas trees, while raising vital funds for the hospice’s work in 2024; recognises that this was made possible with help from Sustainable Thinking Scotland, Torwood Garden Centre and UK charity Just Helping; understands that, as the first Scottish charity to take part in the scheme, Strathcarron Hospice received a donation for every real Christmas tree that was collected from a home address and then recycled; recognises that businesses across the Forth Valley region contributed to this effort, with vehicles loaned and staff volunteering from IBT Grangemouth, MKM Stirling, AMR Log Cabins, FBS Plumbing and idverde UK; notes that, with the combined support from those looking to recycle their tree and volunteer collectors, the hospice raised what it sees as a fantastic £7,000 to support crucial provision; congratulates Strathcarron Hospice on its circular economic fundraising efforts, and wishes it the best of luck with all upcoming fundraisers in 2024.
