Wielka Orkiestra Swiatecznej Pomocy Events in Motherwell and Wishaw

The motion

That the Parliament recognises volunteers and members of the Polish community who came together to fundraise for Wielka Orkiestra Swiatecznej Pomocy (WOSP), the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, for the 32nd Grand Finale on 28 January 2024 across Motherwell and Wishaw; understands that WOSP is a charity that is focused on providing medical equipment to hospitals across Poland and running medical and educational programmes; further understands that the Polish community from Motherwell, Wishaw and beyond came together to raise funds and celebrate the day with "The Light to the Sky", where people from Poland and beyond come together to symbolically channel positive energy and wishes for hope; commends Michal Rosinski, Agata Lis and Klaudia Koniarska, from Motherwell and Wishaw, for organising the Get Even with Diabetes run in Muirhouse and a family fun day in Craigneuk; commends the players and management from FC Polonia Glasgow and FC Polska Aberdeen for organising and playing their football match in Wishaw; notes that the events across Motherwell and Wishaw were organised alongside sporting and community events in Glasgow; understands that events across Motherwell and Wishaw raised £2,261.82, with the total sum raised across Motherwell, Wishaw and Glasgow amounting to £15,065.79; congratulates organisers for the successful events; thanks the community for the kind donations, and wishes all involved in Wielka Orkiestra Swiatecznej Pomocy all the very best for the future.
