Global Tourism Resilience Day

That the Parliament acknowledges what it sees as the important contribution that sustainable tourism makes to the North East Scotland region; notes what it considers to be the importance of these contributions, particularly on Global Tourism Resilience Day on 17 February 2024, which it understands has the aim of raising awareness of sustainable tourism and celebrating sustainable tourism efforts and initiatives; further notes reports of the UNESCO trail in Dundee as an inspiration for promoting sustainable tourism in the region, through supporting local businesses; supports local businesses in the tourism industry that are striving towards sustainable practices; recognises the efforts of Glen Tanar, Aberdeenshire, to implement sustainable energy into its business and for practising sustainable forest and land management; applauds Down on the Farm, Aberdeenshire, for committing to long-term sustainability, achieving a Silver level Green Tourism Award and for striving towards Gold; highlights the work of award-winning Wild Discovery, Aberdeenshire, for supporting rural and green livelihoods and supporting conservation initiatives; congratulates these local businesses and initiatives that support sustainable tourism in the North East Scotland region, and looks forward to seeing their growing successes.
