Carrongrange Challenge for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the pupils of Carrongrange High School in Grangemouth on their "Carrongrange Challenge" for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation; recognises that 168 pupils will travel a total distance of 3,000 km during February, and that this will take place alongside the achievements of the "Roads to Rome" team, which is cycling from Edinburgh to Rome, visiting each Six Nations venue; understands that Carrongrange High School pupils will be paddle boarding, to represent when the team crosses the Irish Sea, swimming when it crosses the English Channel and will be cycling, dancing, running, hopping and jumping their way to complete the 3,000 km distance; notes that the pupils and the "Roads to Rome" team aim to complete their respective challenges by 9 March 2024, when the Scotland rugby team takes on Italy in the Six Nations 2024; further notes what it sees as the importance of fundraising efforts, such as those undertaken by Carrongrange High School, for raising awareness and vital funds for MND and other diseases; notes that some of the Carrongrange High School pupils will be performing Flower of Scotland in their Makaton Choir at the official send-off in Edinburgh for the "Roads to Rome" cycling team on 28 February 2024; congratulates pupils of Carrongrange High School on their achievements, and wishes them well in their endeavours.
