Aberdeen Donside Resident Selected for Roverway 2024

The motion

That the Parliament commends Zahra Rasool, who has recently been selected to be part of the Girlguiding UK Contingent to Roverway 2024; notes that Zahra is the only Girlguiding participant selected from Aberdeen City to attend this year’s programme in Norway; understands that Roverway is one of the most popular guide and scout events in Europe for those aged 16 to 22, with approximately 5,000 individuals participating in the event, which is held every three to six years; notes that the aims of Roverway include promoting intercultural learning and exchange, and to enable meaningful youth leadership opportunities; understands that Zahra will join other participants taking part in a five-day pathway event along various routes in southern Norway, before meeting up for a joint jamboree event near Stavanger, and wishes Zahra all the best in her fundraising efforts, and for her time at Roverway 2024.
