MILAN Senior Welfare Organisation Secures Electrical Safety Funding
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates MILAN Senior Welfare Organisation on securing electrical safety funding to raise awareness of fire safety with home appliances; understands that MILAN held an event on 14 February 2024 to create awareness of electrical and fire safety; further understands that the event aimed to give older people the opportunity to have their small electrical items checked and detected by an electrician for any faults; understands that many older people in communities struggle to stay up to date with electrical and fire safety measures; welcomes the opportunity for older people in communities to learn about electrical safety, while ensuring that their electrical equipment is safe and up-to-date, and celebrates MILAN for hosting the event to raise awareness of the potential dangers of electrical equipment.
