Aberdeen FC Community Trust and St Machar Alternative Academy Programme

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the 10 pupils from St Machar Academy who have been given the chance to design a new football shirt, which will be worn by players of Aberdeen FC's men's team in the warm-up ahead of their match against Hibernian FC; notes that the 10 pupils, who are participants of the S3 Aberdeen FC Community Trust (AFCCT) St Machar Alternative Academy Programme, have been working on the "AFC Club Shop Project" since August 2023, in which they have been working together to design, produce and market a commemorative "10 Years of AFCCT" football shirt; believes that the partnership between AFCCT and St Machar Academy, which, it understands, supports young people who are perhaps not achieving their full potential in mainstream education, is a fine example of local organisations collaborating with schools to enhance the skills and opportunities available to young people, with participants on their way to achieving a Level 4 SQA Personal Development Award, and looks forward to the finished kit being made available in the AFC Club Shop in the run-up to Trust Day 2024.
