SP Energy Networks Net Zero Fund Supports 1st Ardrossan Scout Group

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates 1st Ardrossan, 15th Ayrshire, Scout Group on being awarded £93,000 from Scottish Power’s Net Zero Fund; understands that this funding will support extensive renovation of its current Scout Hall, including the installation of an air source heat pump, insulation and replacement glazing; notes that the hall is currently used by a variety of community organisations, such as mental health support groups and those working with people with additional support needs; understands that the improvements are predicted to allow the hall to increase weekly visitors by as many as 50 people, providing a vital community space for more local groups; further understands that the £5 million Net Zero Fund was launched in 2022 by SP Energy Networks to support vulnerable communities and to ensure that no one is left behind on the country’s journey to net zero emissions; commends the Ardrossan Scout Group for the work that it does fostering community engagement, providing opportunities for personal development, and instilling values of leadership, teamwork, and environmental stewardship among its young members, and wishes 1st Ardrossan Scout Group every success for the future.
