West Lothian's First Step Robotics Receives Prestigious Award at Scotland Regional Robotics Competition

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates West Lothian team, First Step Robotics, on being awarded the prestigious Amaze Award at the Scotland Regional Robotics Competition; understands that a total of 13 teams from 10 high schools entered the competition with First Step Robotics, of Livingston, securing its award in recognition of having the most outstanding, well-rounded and top-performing robot in the competition; further understands that the team’s portfolio presentation demonstrated not only its technical ability but also a comprehensive understanding of the engineering process, which, it believes, is all the more remarkable, given that they are relative newcomers to the competition; acknowledges what it sees as the work of this community interest company in empowering young people between the ages of eight and 17 to unlock their full potential through the power of STEM, and wishes First Step Robotics continued success.
