Alex Meek Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the outstanding commitment that Alex Meek has given to Maybole Juniors FC; applauds his dedication to the club over the last 42 years, undertaking numerous roles from manager to secretary and, most recently, club president; considers that Alex, who has played for Dalrymple Arms and Vale of Girvan in the past, is an outstanding figure of the club and community, and understands that he is known locally as Mr Maybole; understands that the award came as quite a shock to Alex when the club's general manager, Carlo Walker, presented him with an engraved plate in honour of his lifetime’s work; congratulates Alex on this very special occasion, and wishes him all the very best in the knowledge that football will always remain very close to his heart.
