Fairer Aberdeen Fund
The motion
That the Parliament applauds the work of the participants, staff and volunteers who have contributed to the Fairer Aberdeen programme over the last year; understands that the Fairer Aberdeen Fund, which is allocated by Aberdeen City Council to tackle poverty and deprivation, invested £1.5 million into community projects in 2022-23, supporting 44,228 people; believes that this support was delivered by 739 volunteers, giving a total of 144,869 hours of volunteering time, representing a value of volunteering of £2.2 million; understands that this support included 35,307 emergency food parcels, 73,800 community magazines delivered to 24,600 households, 2,716 counselling sessions provided in local priority areas, and £1.9 million in affordable loans provided to 5,099 Credit Union savers, and thanks the Fairer Aberdeen Board for working with third sector partners to deliver the projects making up the Fairer Aberdeen programme.
