St Enoch Centre Pays Tribute to 1924 Olympic Champion, Eric Liddell

That the Parliament congratulates the St Enoch Centre in Glasgow on launching a tribute display to legendary 1924 Olympic champion, Eric Liddell; understands that this comes as part of the preparations for the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships, and that the display offers visitors a glimpse into the life of Mr Liddell, also known as "the Flying Scotsman", and his victory at the Paris Olympics in 1924 in which he won a gold medal for the 400m; notes that the initiative is led by The Eric Liddell 100, which aims to honour his legacy and inspire future generations; understands that the exhibition runs alongside two others, namely a Museum of World Athletics (MOWA) exhibition and Team Scotland’s The Stars of Track and Field exhibition, marking the 10-year anniversary of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games; further understands that a series of events and activities follows the launch of an educational resource and sports day toolkit for schools across Glasgow and beyond, which aims to educate students on Eric’s values and inspire them to embody passion, compassion and integrity in their lives, and notes that the Eric Liddell, MOWA and Team Scotland exhibitions are open daily to the public from 11.00 am to 6.00 pm, and will run until 4 March 2024, coinciding with the closure of the World Athletics Indoor Championships.
