40th Anniversary of CEIS Group
The motion
That the Parliament notes that 3 April 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of the CEISGroup, the social enterprise based in Glasgow; further notes that the CEISGroup was established in 1984 with the aim of making Scotland a better place towork through a more inclusive economy; believes that throughout its history, ithas undertaken a number of initiatives and partnerships that have had a largeimpact on the third sector; understands that the CEIS Group helped to createScotland’s Social Enterprise Strategy, pioneered social enterprise businesssupport by leading on the Just Enterprise partnership, offers what it sees asinnovative employability service through CEIS Ayrshire and founded the SocialEnterprise World Forum; further understands that it was instrumental in thefoundation of the Glasgow Social Enterprise Network, and considers that it hashad a great impact in the SME funding arena via DSL; believes that is leader insocial innovation, including through programmes such as the InternationalSocial Enterprise Observatory, which attracted inward investment, and theSocial Innovation Spin Out programme, which is aligned to the entrepreneurialcampus, and understands that it has been a passionate champion of communitywealth building and the wellbeing economy; congratulates the CEIS Group on fourdecades of working to build community enterprise in Glasgow, and acrossScotland, and wishes it every success for the future.
