Salvesen Mindroom Centre Receives Recognition from the King of Sweden for Substantial Contributions to Society
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Salvesen Mindroom Centre on receiving recognition from the King of Sweden for substantial contributions to society; understands that Salvesen Mindroom Centre is a Scottish charity that champions all forms of neurodiversity and collaborates across borders; further understands that, in 2023, it hosted a high level round table discussion, entitled Neuroinclusion at Work, together with the Swedish organisation, The Prince Couple's Foundation; notes that Salvesen Mindroom Centre was founded by Sophie Dow in 2000; understands that Sophie was inspired by her daughter, Annie, who is neurodivergent, and set up Salvesen Mindroom Centre to provide help and support to children, young adults and families living with neurodivergence; commends Salvesen Mindroom Centre on reportedly fielding 32,124 enquiries on behalf of children and young people and their families in the last year; understands that Sophie attended a medal ceremony in Stockholm on 21 February 2024 and received a medal from the King of Sweden in the presence of the Queen of Sweden, and wishes Salvesen Mindroom Centre all the best for the future.
