Eight-year-old Milngavie Pupil Organises Litter Pick

The motion

That the Parliament applauds the efforts of the eight-year-old Milngavie resident, Eilidh Walker, in organising a litter pick on her school walk route; notes that the youngster got the idea to organise a "clean-up crew" from a book that she had read; understands that she made flyers to distribute to friends and neighbours, including members of the Milngavie in Bloom team; acknowledges the dedication of the team in gathering 10 bags of rubbish from the West Highland Way, the river nearby and around the library, despite the awful weather; values the initiative of Eilidh to help improve the local environment by cleaning up and recycling much of the litter; hopes that her efforts have inspired others to take better care of the surrounding area, and wishes Eilidh the best of luck in her future academic endeavours.
