West Lothian Firm, Valneva, Wins Two Awards at Scotland’s Annual Life Sciences Awards 2024

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Livingston-based firm, Valneva, on its double award win at Scotland’s annual Life Sciences Awards 2024; understands that Valneva is a speciality vaccine company that develops, manufactures and commercialises vaccines for infectious diseases addressing unmet medical needs; recognises that Valneva was awarded both the Outstanding Skills Development award, for having achieved a strong people-led culture through its unique five-year People Plan, and its "Together We" cultural transformation campaign that was launched in February 2023, and the Innovation - Pharma Services and Drug Discovery award, for having advanced a new vaccine candidate; notes that the judges were impressed by the company's entry, and felt that Valneva's innovation will have a huge impact for Scotland both globally and economically, and looks forward to what it believes to be the important future contribution that it will bring to Scotland’s burgeoning life sciences sector.
