Inverclyde Royal Hospital Workers Recognised for Completing 100 Years of Service
The motion
That the Parliament thanks Glen Stevenson and Anne King for having both worked with the NHS for 50 years, accumulating 100 years of service between them; understands that Glen, a night shift porter, and Anne, a health care assistant, are both based at Inverclyde Royal Hospital; further understands that Anne could retire, but that she is choosing to keep working as she says that she would miss it, and the reward of helping patients and seeing them get better, too much, and that Glen also has no immediate plans to retire, citing how he enjoys working alongside his porter colleagues; appreciates that hospital bosses organised a celebratory tea party for both Glen and Anne in recognition of their career milestones; believes that Glen and Anne’s experience and many years of service is invaluable to NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, and thanks them for what it sees as their continuing hard work and dedication.
