The motion

That the Parliament recognises the opening of the George Ward Collection at the Maryhill Burgh Halls, which takes visitors back to Maryhill during the 1970s; notes that photographs, other various items and video footage of what life was like 50 years ago in the streets of north west Glasgow are on display; understands that the exhibition was put together by a team at the halls along with George's son, Richard, who has been keeping the items safe since his father's death two years ago; acknowledges that the displayed objects have been restored and provide a unique window into the architecture of the time, and recognises that there have been big changes in the area and that visitors coming in from Maryhill to view the exhibition will see many tenements, pubs and structures that no longer exist.
