The motion

That the Parliament understands that 2024 is the 50th anniversary of Aberdeen Science Centre’s infamous “pooping sheep”; understands that the sheep, which allows visitors to follow the journey of food as it travels through the digestive system, is the oldest science exhibit in Scotland, even predating the Science Centre itself, having started off life at the Rowett Institute; further understands that the Science Centre, which first opened as Satrosphere in Justice Mill Lane in 1988, has been educating and entertaining children and adults alike through interactive, hands-on exhibits for over 35 years, providing memorable experiences of live science for schoolchildren across Aberdeen, and hopes that the sheep has no plans to retire anytime soon and will keep playing a part in making science fun and accessible in Aberdeen for many years to come.
