Edinburgh Pentlands Groups Receive Over £750,000 in National Lottery Community Funding

That the Parliament congratulates seven organisations across the Edinburgh Pentlands constituency on securing £752,175 from the National Lottery Community Fund; understands that Oxgangs-based Best Bib N Tucker CIC received £150,000 to continue to support people who are isolated and lonely through a programme of activity that encourages people of all ages to enhance their skills, build friendships and make local connections; notes that the Community Wellbeing Collective secured £125,000 to deliver a community wellbeing programme from its space in Wester Hailes, that Oxgangs Neighbourhood Centre SCIO received a £149,045 grant to continue its programme of community activities, and that Starcatchers Productions Limited secured £124,890 to continue to deliver a creative arts programme for babies and young children in Wester Hailes; further notes that the Health Agency received a £75,000 grant to support people who have cancer in Wester Hailes and across the city of Edinburgh, that Wester Hailes Community Trust will use its £118,240 funding to continue implementing the projects that have been identified as part of the Wester Hailes Local Place Plan, which is the first of its kind in Scotland, and that Buckstone-based St Fillan's Church secured a £10,000 grant to redecorate and insulate its church hall, which is used as a community hub; commends staff, volunteers and participants of all the groups in securing these funds, and believes that this is testament to the success of the work that they do in the local community for the local community.
